Inspired by so many superb versions here, I try my humble hand at it as well for fun...^_^
A Verse By Yang Shen
(Tune to the Immortals by the River)
The Yangtze rolls eastward sans return,
Like billows many heroes are gone amain.
Gain or loss, right or wrong, all are vain,
Whereas the green mountains and
Sunrise and sunset will timelessly remain.
Lo, fishermen and woodsmen on the shores
Wonted to spring wind and autumn moon wax and wane.
E’en drink a jug of rough wine they would fain,
And many anecdotes of yore
Like wine their laughter and chat entertain.
